Android (Pixel 3) - 8.5.10.774

Windows 10 - 1.1.9.383.g9f48828e

Saved tracks on Friday.  They are present in the "Liked" playlist and "Songs".  Saved tracks on Saturday, they don't appear in either.  If I select the same tracks which show that they are saved but un-save and re-save they still don't show up in either "liked" or "songs".  Same behavior on both Android and Windows 10.

The whole Albums feature is broken as far as I'm concerned. I often use it to save partial albums, e.g. saving albums without bonus tracks or saving a particular piece (spanning multiple tracks) of a composer from a collection of many different pieces. Now I instead have a playlist of 'Liked Songs' containing 3026 songs. That is to me completely useless.

@gwar9999,

Could you send us over your Spotify versions as well?

Looking forward to your reply.

I was trying to delete my previous comment as the behaviour I observe is most likely not related to the issue reported here, but apparently it's not possible (or I'm missing something fundamental).

In any case, my issue turns out to be the horrendous, mindblowingly wrong change introduced around February/March complained about in the below topics:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Other-Partners-Web-Player-etc/Artists-not-showing-up-and-saved-song...

Thanks for keeping in touch!

No worries, we've gone ahead and removed your previous comment in this case 🙂

If you'd like to delete a comment in the future that you can do so by following the steps in this Spotify Answer anytime.

We'd also recommend taking a look at this Spotify Answer for more info on the changes in Your Library.

Hope this helps clarify things! If there's anything else we can help with, just give us a shout.

Have a lovely day 🙂

I think Spotify did a poor rollout of the new "liked" playlist and there's been a few updates since but it's still a bit non-intuitive and incongruent in terms of functionality and messaging.

Currently, on Android (8.5.17.676) which differs from the original problem I described on a previous version-- if I select an album there is now a "Like" option which adds nothing to the "liked playlist"  and 2 items down in the menu there is a "Like all songs" option which does add the songs to the "liked playlist".  However, selecting each of these options indicate something was "saved to my library".  I can see that the prior option adds the album to "albums" but no tracks to the "liked playlist". However, since they resulted in different actions the messaging should be clearer ("album was saved to your albums" vs. "tracks were added your tracks playlist").

Further, depending on where you are within the app (viewing the album vs long-tapping on the list of an artists' albums) there is an option to "save" album vs. "like" album-- these appear to be the same thing but why aren't they labeled the same?

On Windows 10 (1.1.12.449.g4109e645), if you select an album there is no option to like all songs only to "save to your library" which saves the album to "albums" but no tracks are saved to the "liked playlist".  In this case the messaging is "Added to your library" (instead of "saved ...." as on Android) and if you highlight multiple tracks and bring up the context menu there's an option to "save to your liked songs" which when selected the message is "added to your liked songs".  So on Windows, at least in the latter case it indicates where to find the tracks but in the prior, it just says "library" and on Android in both cases it doesn't mention where to find them, specifically, just "library".
