[Android] "Downloading" playlist is stuck on 0%

Status: Fixed
0 Likes

Thread: 116950

Status: Unresolved

Description:

This thread is for this particular issue:

In a playlist, in Spotify on Android, you press the green “Download playlist” button and it stays stuck on “Downloading 0%”

Additional information:

  1. If your device doesn’t show up under Devices in the desktop client, that is a different issue. Please make sure you try resolving the issue using our connection troubleshooting tips
  2. If your playlist did sync before, but then disappeared, please go here
  3. Have a look at the updated Troubleshooting Spotify on Android topic
  4. When replying here, make sure you provide ALL the details we ask for. A simple “I have this problem too” doesn’t give us any info we can use to try and find a common cause
  5. When replying here, please also state how much space you have left both on your device AND on your SD card (Only if your phone supports an external SD card, of course)
  6. If you have rooted and/or installed a custom rom we can’t troubleshoot properly. Please reset your phone to factory settings and try again

2013-01-15:

I'm not yet convinced that this issue is resolved, but responses have died down quite a bit of late.

I am told by the developers that this is mostl a tempoar issue for users; that after a while the issue resolves itself on individual devices.

I also want to note that some responses in this thread indicate that two issues are being mixed up. The particular issue being discussed here is that playlists will not start downloading for offline use on your Android device.

To the point: Is anyone here having problems downloading playlists on their Android device and if so, has this been going on for longer than a month?

Description When I try to sync my playlists/albums, etc on my Apole IPhone 128gb device it only syncs my music randomly. Ive noticed it syncing only on random wifi networks at home or on business trips overseas or music simply just doesnt ever sync What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue? Restarted phone. Restarted app by closing it down. Go to offline mode and back to online mode (these 3 steps works sometimes but eventually just stops or disappears and never continues). I even just paid 2.99 for a 200gb I cloud storage, just incase it is using my I cloud memory as oppose to my device storage which it has used up 42gb of my device storage of 128gb, my available storage despite my other files is still 57gb available memory. I do have 1200+ songs left to download for offline use, but I should have plenty of space still for that amount of songs. What I expected to happen To begin it's syncing again. Resolved this issue on my S4 mini by turning off all the other spotify enabled devices on my wifi network - Im wondering if its got something to do with the desktop and mobile clients getting into an inconsistent state or something like that?

Hello.

I have been having this issue for the past week or so.

I am using a Nexus 5 with Android 7 on WiFi. Non rooted or anything else. I have 13gb of free space. And not currently using Spotify on any other device.

My download status sits at 0 of whatever for literally days. Before I deleted the cache and the app, it would download songs, and the app notification counter would go down. It would say "0 of 15" for example instead of "0 of 16".

After removing the app totally and reinstalling it, it's now well and truly stuck. When trying to download a playlist. When trying to download a playlist.

After I cancel the download. After I cancel the download.

I am having no issues listening to songs, just downloading.

I hope this helps solve this issue, cause I need my music to get through my day. Since I have a data cap, I need the download function to... Well function.
