My Question or Issue

Hello my friends,

I have been having issues with the Spotify app on my Android devices since the last update (currently two hours ago). It crashes every time you open the app after 15 to 30 seconds. Since I'm experiencing this issue on two devices, I think I'm not the only one with this issue. Can you please fix it?

Update: It has been fixed! I'm not having issues on the 8.4.77 update. Thanks Spotify!

Same Here on Samsung Galaxy S7  running Android 8.0.0

Tryed to reboot the phone, delete the Cache, reinstall the App.

Nothing helped.

you r definitely not the only one, i thought it was because i updated to pie, but apparently that is not the case after read this. I think will can only wait for the next update to fix the problem. Is the icon colour a bit different too? or is it just me

The same here, always closing, no metters on wi-fi, data, baterry saving performance allow exclusion for spotify, cleared cache, reinstalled, still crashing 😞

A new update seems to have been released and the app is back to normal, the interface and icon we were used to.

SAME HERE - SO GLAD SPOTIFY IS SO FAST AT FIXING THIS - GOD IF i DIDNT HATE APPLE I WOULD GO THERE AND USE THEIR SERVICE.

A SOLUTION I TRIED (BUT I HATE THE FACT i HAVE TO DO IT) I START A TRACK THEN GO SWITCH OFF WIFI - LET THE SONG PLAY THEN TURN WIFI BACK ON (DONT TURN OFF THE AP) IT WORKS - UNTIL YOU STOP SPOTIFY AND START AGAIN.

LETS HOPE THE TECH GENIUS'S HERE ACTUALLY DECIDE TO FIX IT

Same problem on S60 android, after installing the spotify last version from the app store, it crash after 15 seconds or click on a song to play , here is the screenshot:

I don't see an update for the app in the Play Store at the moment. But maybe it'll roll out slowly. I dont't really know. Hopefully I'll get that update soon.

Same thing here, looks like a rollback to the old version. But still I have to deal with frequent crashes. I tried rebooting and reinstalling, but again I didn't help. X( @Spotify: Stay on it to create a stable version again.

Same issue here. Using Galaxy S8, Android 8.0.0. Reboot, re-install - did not solve the issue.
