My Question or Issue

When i use the Spotify app it works perfect during browsing. However, when i select a song it plays max two minutes. Then the sound disappears for one second and the app crashes. I've already cleared the cache and data from the Spotify app, deleted the app and reinstalled it again. Even a factory reset of the box didn't solved the issue. The other installed apps (Deezer, TuneIn, Netflix, Videoland, Youtube etc.) working all fine... Anyone an idea how to solve this?

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone!

Thanks!

My Question or Issue

My Spotify app on Android TV keeps crashing after 5 or so songs. Sometimes lasts longer. Sometimes there are graphical glitches before crashing. Always kicks me out to the TV Home screen. I have tried reinstalling the app, and my TVs firmware is up to date. My TV is where I use Spotify the majority of the time. Been happening for a while now, been waiting for an update to fix it, but maybe Spotify isn't aware of the problem. Hope they recieve crash statistics.

I've had Spotify crash on my Sony Android OS TV a few times. The UI will lose all graphics, sometimes showing a gray box/circle where a graphic should be, but results in flickering, audio stuttering, and a crash.

The same happens to me with my Sony KD-49XF9005 (latest Android TV update).

I use it pretty much every time with Spotify Connect (from Mac and iPhone).

Any updates on this? Still crashing, twice today so far. The number of bugs in Spotify (all platforms) is the reason I haven't gotten Premium yet.

I have the same issue, after 5-10 songs the app start to hang. It starts with the app having hick ups. That also make the android os having a breakdown, it takes forever to respond to anything so it affects more than just spotify. Model KD65XE9005BAE

Petya

Hey all,

Thanks for sharing this info.

I'd advise you to:

1. Restart the router.
2. Restart the TV.
3. Confirm if Connect works properly.
4. Send a screenshot of the error messagee if there is one.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Hello @Petya,

Things get reset around here anytime there is an issue, and it's been happening for a few months now.

Because of how quickly it can boot to the TV menu, it's a bit hard to document. (I really hope you guys capture crash statistics.)

Here's a compilation video I made of issues I've seen that demonstrate the problem:

Thank you

My Question or Issue

After updating the OS on my Android TV to 8.0.0, the spotify logo appears and app crashes after 1-2 seconds.

Exactly the same problem - Sony Bravia with latest version of Android TV.

Very often (but not always), Spotify randomly crash after a few songs. I have the same behaviour as @wafforainbo shows in his video: music breaks twice, then Spotify crash and Android gets back to Home.

Other Android apps are running fine - nothing indicates this might be a router/network issue. No further error message.
