Arrow Key Folder Navigation : The Sequel

In early May, the arrow keys stopped working for navigating folders. Then a month later they were fixed *hooray*. Then about a month ago, they broke again; not completely broke, but mostly broke.

I can use the up/down arrows to step through folders and playlists, but as soon as I use a left or right arrow key to open or close a folder, the arrow keys FREEZE UP!! There have been two new updates released now since this problem started, and still it is not fixed.

Does anyone on the developement team even use the arrow keys? Is the code behind how folders work that much of a nightmare to maintain? I've noticed other folder issues that happen with an update then get fixed with the next update. Folders work, then break, then work, then break...

I'm on Windows 7 and Spotify Desktop 1.0.91.183.g259b84fa

Please RE-fix arrow key navigation for folders.

Thanks for reporting this.

If you've already tried a clean reinstall of the app on your device and the issue persists, make sure to click the +VOTE button.

We'll also need the following details, if you haven't left them already, in order to report this to the right folks:

• Device and OS
• Spotify version 

It'd be also helpful if you could include any screenshots of what you see. Just make sure that they don't include any sensitive info.

Thanks Katerina for replying to my snarky post. I'm a keyboard junkie and I love how keyboard friendly the desktop app is. I'll give the clean install a shot today or tomorrow and report back.

I did the clean reinstall. The issue did not go away. Arrow keys stop working after opening or closing a folder with the right or left arrow key.

Same thing happening to me.

Arrow keys stop working after opening or closing a playlist folder with right or left arrow key and won't function again until I click on a playlist or folder with my cursor.

My Spotify version: 1.0.91.183.g259b84fa
OS: Windows 7 SP1 on a VAIO laptop

Thanks for keeping us up to speed 🙂

In that case, could you confirm if you're still on the same Spotify version? 

Also, if you have another Spotify account, give it a try logging out and back in with the other account on your desktop device, to make sure this isn't an account related issue.

I'm part of a premium family plan, so asked my wife to try it on her account. Same issue, the arrow keys freeze after opening or closing a folder using right or left arrows.

Just today, a new update appeared (1.0.92.390.g2ce5ec7d) so I installed it. Arrow keys are still not cooperating.
