Artist Discography only shows 10 albums on the big screen

Hi.

I've been using Spotify on Nvidia Shield since July 2019.

About one week ago, all the discographies shown in artists' pages have been limitated to 10 albums. The other ones are still available but your have to search for them from the search engine. This is fastidious.

Are no more shown in the artists' pages, for examples:

The Beatles

  • Sergent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Pink Floyd

  • The Dark Side of the Moon
  • Wish You Were Here

David Bowie

  • Ziggy Stardust
  • Heroes

The oldest albums from them are:

The Beatles

  • Abbey Road (1969)

Pink Floyd

  • Animals (1977)

David Bowie

  • Blackstar (2016)

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

Please, give us back the complete discographies.

Am I the only one to be bothered by this limitation?

It's a pain. A frustration.

And at the same time, I can't imagine who on Earth could benefit from it.

My Question or Issue:

I do not see all albums from an artist when I am on the Artists page.  This problem occurs for every artist when their total number of albums is greater than some number.

Hi there @dhuttenm,

thanks for reaching out to the community !

A good indication for missing content would be to ask a friend or a sibling who use Spotify in the same country to check if they're seeing the full list you're looking for.

If not, please make sure to read this official help page on missing content.

However, if they do see it, please reply back to the post and we'll continue from there.

Hope this helps.

Let me know if you have any further questions 🙂

Serial_Watcher

It's a drastic diminution of the quality of the service provided by Spotify.

And I see no reason for it.

Serial_Watcher

Could this number be 10 ?

I have the same problem on Nvidia Shield.

I have signaled it here.

I'm in Belgium.

I am in the U.S.  I am able to search for albums by an artist and find them, but they do not appear on the discography of an artist on the artist page.  For example, I can go to the Led Zeppelin artist page and see 10 albums starting from the latest release.  I do not see Led Zeppelin II, but I can search for it and find it.  This was not a problem until recently, so there must have been an update to the Roku app that somehow limits the number of albums displayed for the discography of an artist on the Artist page.

This is exactly the same problem I am having with the Spotify app on Roku!  I am in the U.S.  This is very annoying when an artist has a lot of releases and I want to listen to a certain album.  Thanks for posting this.

My Question or Issue

Hi not sure if this is the right place for this but couldn't see anywhere that looked more appropriate. I noticed a few albums had gone from Trivium's page when I was at a friend's house yesterday using the Xbox One Spotify app, and then noticed even more albums by other artists are missing when I used the app on my TV today. I just assumed due to some licencing issue lots of music had been removed but then I noticed when I used the android app on my phone the albums are there. You can still find them on the TV and Xbox apps by searching for the album but if you go on the artist's page they're not there. And it's happened with a LOT of artists. Any explanation or fix for this? I've attached a photo of the Samsung app and a screenshot from my phone.

It has just occurred to me that this is not a technical error that is affecting some artists, it is simply the way these apps have been designed. Every album list on every artist's page only displays the 10 most recent albums and anything older than that needs to be found by searching directly for them. Bizarre, unhelpful and totally unjustifiable.
