Artist keeps automatically becoming blocked even after unblocking

Hi all, 

For some reason an artist I like keeps becoming blocked (the "do not play this artist" feature) automatically. It happened about a week ago, I thought I must have turned this feature on by accident so turned it off and was able to play the songs again. But now every time I restart the app from my phone/just after a certain period of listening that artist gets blocked again and I have to unblock. Very frustrating and time-consuming.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, logging out and in etc.

Pretty sure this is a bug, any one else experienced similar?

Hi, 

for error I blocked an artist on my phone.

Now I tray to unblock this artist but doesn't work.

When I return to the artist this is blocked again.

There are another things to do for unblock the artist?

Could you try a clean reinstall of the app? Once you've done that, go to Your Library > Scroll to Hidden > Select the artist you want to Unhide/Unblock and tap 🚫.

Hi!

unfortunately it still doesn't work.

I reinstalled the app but the artist is still blocked.

When i unblock it i can listen music but if i close the app and entry again the artist is blocked.

Hey @matteoooo,

Can you enable show unplayable tracks? Once you do that, log out everywhere and let me know if that makes a difference.

You can also follow the steps here to clear the app's cache as that can interfere with the ability for Unblocking artists to be temporary.

Welcome to the Community!

Make sure you've performed a clean reinstall of the app instead of a regular one to remove any cache files which could be causing this. You can check this article out for tips on how to run the clean reinstall.

If that doesn't do the trick, try enabling the show unplayable tracks option. 

You can also try to unhide the artist from your Library by following the steps below:

1. Open the Spotify app on your phone. 
2. Go to Your Library . 
3. Go to Artists.
4. Scroll all the way down. 
5. Tap  Hidden. 
6. Look for the artist and unblock them.

Hello,
I am having a lot of issues right now with the "hidden artist" feature because no matter what, everytime I undo the "don't play this" button, I can't seem to keep it permanently. The artist is featured on a song I like and because I hid them, I can't play the song at all and I have to keep manually going back to unhide them. Is this some kind of bug or does hiding an artist mean you will never ever be able to undo it?

Every time I enter the application I have an artist who is always on the list of hidden artists and I need to allow to play his music. I have to do the same steps every time I start the application.How can I solve the problem? I tried all the mentioned steps. It did't work.

Hi, i have the same problem. I accidentally block an artist (AC DC) on android app, and now i can't listen to them on pc. I tried to unlock them on the app, but when i reopen the app they are still blocked.

I also reinstall the app following the guide but didn't work.
