Audio Glitches During Crossfade on iPad

As of yesterday, I have been noticing audio glitches during crossfading.  It’s something like a pop or a click, and it always happens either at the very beginning of the crossfade or at the very end of the crossfade.  It can be especially loud after a song that is over ten minutes long.  This is a very annoying glitch and it takes away the enjoyment of listening to music on Spotify somewhat.

It’s only happening on ios.  I have no other ios devices that I can use besides my current iPad.

 

I have no other Spotify accounts to log into and I don’t know of any family members who also use Spotify.  But, I’m certain the issue will persist no matter what account is used.

When are you going to fix this issue?!  I still find these audio artifacts very annoying!

It's a good idea to click here and create a new account and to try with the new account. That way we can check if it's an account-related issue. Are there any changes?

 

We'd suggest you also try changing the Crossfade time to see if the issue persists.

Just tried a different account.  The glitches are still there.

We need to check all possible solutions on issues like this before we can report them.

 

Can you also check if it's happening when you play the sound directly from your iPad, and not using some sort of headphones/speakers.

We’re receiving reports that Crossfade is producing glitches on iPad after the most recent update. 

 

First, we'd recommend trying a clean reinstall of the app on your device by following the steps here.

 

If after that you’re still having trouble with this, could you provide us with the following info:

  • device + OS version
  • exact Spotify version

Once we have that, we will pass it on to the relevant team, who will look further into it.

I’ve been noticing the same issue on my iPhone app. I use AirPods Pro to listen to Spotify, and it’s fairly noticeable. I’ve tried all the solutions given here, but nothing has worked.
