Black Screen in Now Playing View on iPad (v9.0.90)

Hey folks,

Some of you with iPads running the app version 9.0.90 may encounter a black screen when you tap the Now Playing View (bar or cover art). The app becomes unresponsive, blocking access to features like lyrics, queue, repeat, and shuffle.

Your track may keep playing despite the black screen. Closing and reopening the app can temporarily fix the issue while this is being looked into.

ipad 10th gen with ipados 18.6.2, same issue since 24th oct around 10am (gmt+3) btw it was fine the night before

I have this problem too im on iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (4th generation)-16.6.1 and version 9.0.90.1227 on spotify, i also noticed a icon on my top left screen, it shows like a monitor, pc and a play button, i dont know if its new, a bug or im just being stupid, please help!

If it doesn’t the next days I’ll change to Tidal, people says it works better.

i have the same issue. thank u spotify team for investigating. for what its worth, here is my iPadOS version, ipad model and spotify version:

spotify: 9.0.90.1227

iPadOS: 26.0.1

model: iPad Air
