Bluetooth play/pause button not working for several weeks now!

The Bluetooth play/pause button does not work (after a few minutes) for several weeks now! Many different Bluetooth headsets and smartwatches are affected (see conversations)!

Please fix very soon - it's really annoying not to be able to play/pause the music with Bluetooth devices.

Reinstallation of the app didn't work!

Hey folks!

It seems that everything's ok for most of you and also, it's been a while since the last update. We'll close the post for now, but if you need anything else, feel free to get back to us.

Take care!

No worries @Aquarius17, we'll keep helping you here in our Community 🙂

Regarding your Bluetooth issue, could you let us know if it happens using a different device or with a different app that is not Spotify?

After reinstalling the app everything seem to be working fine for me for a
couple days now. I guess, my issue is resolved.

Thanks,

Alex

All other music-apps are working completely fine. It's only with Spotify that the play/pause function via Bluetooth is lost after a few minutes. Track foward/back is not affected and always works via Bluetooth!

Please make the whole AVRCP-protocol work again like it did a few month ago on Android 6.0.1

Thanx - Thomas

Thanks for that info, @Aquarius17!

Just to be sure, could you try to log in from your device using a different account to check if this is still happening?

Keep us posted.

The exact same problem still exists in version 8.4.25.771, even if I log in to a Spotify test-account (cs_test_1).

The issue was resolved for me some time ago by reinstalling an app. But after some days it came back. I will try to reinstall the app again, but I would really like to have a more permanent solution.

Hey @Aquarius17, and @jncneo, thanks for keeping us posted!

It seems that a reinstall helps most users, but remember that Spotify isn’t supported across all Bluetooth devices. We'd recommend you check for pending updates on your OS and keep you Spotify app updated.

For a better experience, remember that you can use Spotify Connect.

Be sure to let us know if the reinstall helps 🙂
