My Question or Issue

 Hello everyone.
I apologize in advance for not perfect English.
In any case, for a few days, I systematically find an error in the page "browse" of spotify (the page that is shown at the opening).

The error reported says "there was an error in displaying this page", and under "this page does not exist or an error occurred" (see the screen attached, in italian).

I tried several times to uninstall spotify and reinstall it, and at the first opening, after login, the page "browse" is shown correctly, then once I close the application and reopen the error appears again.

I have no idea what the problem may be...

Can someone kindly help me?

Thank you in advance.

Hey folks,

Thanks for all your reports and patience, this should be now fixed 🙂

Please try logging out of your accounts and back in again to force a sync between your device and account information.

Cheers!

Hey @dlomb

That sounds strange!

Is the web player working normally for you? Here's the link to it.

It looks like some Spotify traffic is blocked, so I recommend making sure that your antivirus and firewall have Spotify whitelisted.

Another network-related thing you can try is editing proxy settings in Spotify app:

Go to Preferences (menu dots - Edit), scroll down, open Advanced Settings and then select No Proxy instead of Auto Detect, or vice versa.

I'd also suggest checking your hosts file for any Spotify related entries. Hosts file is super effective at redirecting (blocking) traffic. Also, editing the file won't break your computer. 🙂
Try this:

1. open Notepad as an administrator (right-click - Open as Administrator)
2. go to File - Open and navigate to

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

3. Choose "All Files" instead of "Text Documents" next to the File Name box. You'll see a handful of files. Pick hosts and click on Open.
4. The file is opened. You will see a block of text with # in front of each line and might see entries like

0.0.0.0 website.com
127.0.0.1 website2.com

Check for any entries with spotify or fastly in the address. Examples may look like:

0.0.0.0 weblb-wg.gslb.spotify.com
0.0.0.0 prod.b.ssl.us-eu.fastlylb.net

(and any variations inbetween)
5. If you do find any, you can delete the line. You can also add a # in front of the line, that's 'commenting out'.
6. Save your changes. Restart Spotify.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

Sebasty, thnaks for the reply.

The web player is working correctly, no errors found.

I have verified antivirus, firewall, proxy (changed from auto to none) and hosts, but no problems found.

Which version of Spotify have you installed? 🙂

I'd recommend installing the Windows Store Spotify app, you can find it by searching for Spotify Music in the store.

If you already run the Windows Store version, I suggest trying out the separate Spotify installer which you can get here.

Also, make sure you have installed all Windows updates.

How long have you been having this issue?

Let me know how it goes 🙂

I have tried to run both windows store and web installer version, but the problem is still presents...

It is about one week that it is occurred.

Windows update are up to date.

If possible, try another network connection. A mobile hotspot will do fine as well.

Try another user account as well to see if the issue recreates itself. 🙂

I'd also try restarting the router, just in case. Sometimes network traffic gets stalled for some reason.

Let me know what happens!

Hey @kikikikihi @Neutrino and @Arturo_Barney

Is this happening at your workplace or at home?

Work and school connections may have some restrictions in place that may be causing this.

If possible, could you try opening Spotify on another computer to see if the issue persists. 🙂

Let me know how it goes!

When i open an artist or an album page i get this message "something went wrong, please try again later". I can only see my own playlists.

I have the latest version of the app 1.0.93.242.gc2341a27 with a free account on windows 10. Is it just me or are you guys experiencing the same?
