Can’t play from one account on multiple devices

So I just got Premium for the less ads and whatnot, but then my boyfriend and I were going to use my Spotify account at the same time to listen to music at our separate workplaces and it only let us listen to the same songs, not separate ones. Why can we not listen to separate stuff on separate devices? Like Netflix.

Hey @Alyy_c, welcome to the Community!

Spotify is for personal use only, so it's not possible to listen on the same account from different devices at the same time. In this case, your boyfriend needs to create his own account and sign up for Premium.

If you both reside at the same physical address, you might be interested in Premium for Family, where you can have up to 6 Premium accounts at a discounted rate.

We hope that clears everything up.
