Can't stream to Google devices

We're seeing reports that some users are unable to stream on their Google devices. This seems to happen on both the desktop & mobile app, as well as on different Google devices.

When I aske Google Mini or Google Nest to play Spotify they answer affirmatively but they don't play anything.

I tried to cast from Spotify app (Android) to Google Mini and Google Nest but it didn't work either.

Finally I unlink my Spotify account at Google Home and relink, but nothing change. The problem remains.

I am having the exact same problem using my iphone or laptop. I canot cast to google home speakers but I can connect to bluetooth speakers no problem. Never had problems before

Exact same scenario here. There is an audible connection to the speakers but no music will play. I've re-installed absolutely everything with negative results. Very frustrating.

I have the same issue, Android. Shows it is playing, but no sound and the play bar is not moving like it is not downloading. It works with prime music

Using Spotify with a Google nest. Spotify connect stopped working today. Spotify and Google nest are connected (they show connected to each other) but when I press play no music plays on either. 

I double checked, they're on the same wifi. Did a reboot of my nest and my phone. Updated the Spotify app. Any ideas? I use this every day 😂

I have the same issue. I've attempted to cast Spotify music from my iphone 16 pro (ios 18), macbook pro, and Windows PC and none of them work. I have isolated it as a Spotify issue as I have factory reset my Google Home, unlinked and relinked Spotify to my Google Home, uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify, tried casting from a friend's device under a different Spotify account, as well as verbally telling Google to play Spotify - none work. The casting connection I have verified is working on my Google home as Youtube music connects and plays music fine. 

When casting there will be an audible connection sound as well as the the green highlight indicating the device is connected, but then the music will rewind 2 seconds and no sound will be heard. The play/pause button shows pause (indicating the music is playing) but tapping it doesn't toggle the symbol nor change anything else. The seconds along the trackbar don't change, indicating the song is not playing during this time. Disconnecting the Spotify from Google Home, the music immediately continues playing from the moment the connection was initially made (indicating it was not progressing through the song during the connection). 

When verbally telling Google Home to play music, Google will respond normally with "playing music from Spotify", then no sound will play. On my phone I can see that it connected to Spotify after the verbal command as the Google home app shows the device as casting from Spotify, but again the same weird pause issue as above occurs when watching from the Google home app. Connection from Spotify to Bluetooth speakers works fine.

Very frustrating, and nudges me towards switching to a different music streaming service if this isn't resolved.

Same problem. Iphone13 suddenly won’t play on my Google speakers. Partner’s Samsung works fine

I'm having same issue. Rebooted my google nest. It's able to play YouTube music no prob. It's definitely an issue with Spotify. I started having issues after I did an update for the spotify app.

I have the issue as do many others on the google home Reddit. Spotify Premium edition music just won’t play on the google speaker , even as YouTube music and even Spotify free works
