[CarPlay] I cannot open CarPlay when rear camera appear in AUDI A5 2017

Vehicle: 2017 Audi A5.

Phone: iPhone 6 (I didn't notice this issue on iPhone 7).

OS: 11.0.3 (I had the same issue in previous versions, for 6 months).

 

Issue:

When the music is playing and the car temporarly exits from Spotify to show rear camera view or MMI alerts, when an obstacle in the road occurs, often it cannot come back to CarPlay. The main menu occurs (Carplay item is visible), but I cannot come into this; when I click it, the menu reloads itself and nothing happens (music is still playing and I can switch songs to next or previous, but I cannot go into Spotify app, and even CarPlay).

To reproduce it, you have to drive a while, stop, close the car, start a car in some time,  turn on the reverse gear (camera appears) and do it again if needed.

Audi says it Spotify's problem, not the vehicle's. The problem didn't occur on Iphone 7.

 

Please fix it because it is very annoying.

Could you let us know the current Spotify versions running on both your phones? Also, it would be nice if you could try this with another phone that has an older version of iOS.

Current version is: 8.4.26.793, the problem occurs from March this year when I got my car, so I had previous iOS version (latest 10...at that time). All that time this problem has happened. Right now I have iOS 11.1.1.

Lately I zeroed it (erase my iPhone) and installed everything again, so I thought that it could help, but it didn't.

 

If there is anything more you need to fix this please let me know.

Thanks for the extra info @Wojtek4!

 

There might be an update available for your app. We'd recommend a clean reinstall with these steps to make sure you have the latest one. Let us know if it makes any difference.
