My Question or Issue

EDIT: This seems to have been fixed (at least it works for me now) as of version 1.1.58.820.g2ae50076-a

Has anyone worked out how to get to the current song playing in a playlist again in the new desktop update? You used to be able to click on the album art and jump to the current song playing in that playlist, but clicking the album art doesn't do anything anymore. I looked through the keyboard shortcuts using Ctrl+? but only saw an option to jump to current playing playlist, not the song as well. Any help would be appreciated, or at least confirmation from others that this option seems to have been removed.

It will rather annoying if that's been removed entirely, as it was said in the update that they improved and added more navigation to the desktop app...? Thanks!

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

Hey again @sillysoraya, I know this has been a tricky issue to work through, but just to be on the safe side, could you please try performing a clean reinstall following the steps at that link? Also, please make sure your computer doesn't have any pending updates. Once you've done that, if this is still occurring, would it be possible for you to record a short video demonstrating the problem? That would be a huge help. I'm going to make a video as well since I seem to have been able to replicate the issue you're having, but it would be great to have one from you as well in case there are any differences in what we're experiencing.

Hi, I did a clean reinstall and the problem is still occurring with ordering, asides from the default 'custom ordering' where it mostly works and jumps to the correct song in both mine and others playlists.

I will send you videos of me going between custom and artist ordering in both mine and others playlists to send across.

Hey there @jmarcil1,

Thank you for flagging this one!

The app indeed behaves as you noticed however, the teams are working on improving this soon. Stay tuned 🙂

Until then, if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to give us a shout. We'll be happy to help.

Have a lovely day 🙂

im curious, did they get rid of friend activity? I can't seem to see it anywhere on the new screenshots! It's one of my favorite spotify features?

Thanks for the update, and I've received your video. Will let you know when I have any more information!

Hey there @mberkhof

Thanks for reaching out about this.

We'd first recommend checking the app's settings to make sure the option to "See what your friends are playing" is toggled on.

You can also try checking if your Facebook account is properly linked to Spotify.

Let us know how it goes.

Okay @sillysoraya, one more update. After further investigation, it seems this is in fact the expected behavior for the app at this point, and the best workaround if you need to get to a specific song on the playlist is to turn off filters/sorting as you've been doing. When filters and sorting are activated, clicking the artwork is meant to just take you to the playlist the song is on but without drilling down to its exact location. Thanks for bearing with me on this, but it looks like this is not a bug after all.

sillysoraya
That's a shame, you'd think that would have been fixed/changed in the new roll-out. Thanks for checking anyway.

No problem, thanks again for the help testing everything out, and let us know if you run into any other issues!

My Question or Issue

When you are in a large playlist of hundreds of songs, how do you get Spotify to go to the current playing song in a playlist?  You used to be able to click the album artwork in bottom left corner and it would sometimes work, but since the recent update no longer works.   The scrolling in playlists is awful too, any solutions to this?
