My Question or Issue

EDIT: This seems to have been fixed (at least it works for me now) as of version 1.1.58.820.g2ae50076-a

Has anyone worked out how to get to the current song playing in a playlist again in the new desktop update? You used to be able to click on the album art and jump to the current song playing in that playlist, but clicking the album art doesn't do anything anymore. I looked through the keyboard shortcuts using Ctrl+? but only saw an option to jump to current playing playlist, not the song as well. Any help would be appreciated, or at least confirmation from others that this option seems to have been removed.

It will rather annoying if that's been removed entirely, as it was said in the update that they improved and added more navigation to the desktop app...? Thanks!

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

Using up-to-date stable Manjaro Linux.

The Spotify version I'm using is the (as of writing this) latest Flatpak version, 1.1.55.498.qf9a83c60 .

https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.spotify.Client

Should be easily reproducable on any PC that runs Linux and Flatpaks, the dependencies come with the Flatpak after all.

The current problem may be related to the number of items in the playlist/album listened to.

On normal albums/playlists with ~310 songs it works perfectly fine for me.

Where it doesn't work for me is in my "Liked Songs" library (contains 1820 songs).

Copying my liked songs into a playlist and playing that, clicking on the album cover to go to the played song doesn't work either (-> goes to the right playlist, but not to the song in the playlist).

So somewhere in between ~310 songs an 1820 songs there seems to be a problematic amount of songs that causes problems?

@AxelFlussbach It works for me on my large playlists (>2000 songs), but only in 'custom order', which seems to be date added or similar, as opposed to any other ordering e.g. by artist. That's when it goes to a random place in the playlist, for me.

This was a feature that was removed in the most recent update. Bring it back, please. Really annoying to have to scroll through a huge playlist to manually spot the song being played.

When I am currently playing a song from within a playlist
And I click the album art of the currently playing song in the left bar of the desktop app window
Then navigate to the playlist from which the song is being played
And automatically scroll down so that the currently playing song is visible in the viewport.

Then congratulate yourself for making your users happy.
