[Connect] Can't use 'play button' on filtered 'Liked Songs' list

My Question or Issue

While streaming music to Chromecast I can't use  'play button' which appear on every song on the list. The problem only occurs on filtered (!) 'Liked Songs' list.

 

When clicking this button nothing happens. Other buttons (play , next, etc.) at the bottom works fine.

 

Also when use this button while listening on local device it works fine.

Now I noticed the same problem occurs on Android device + ChromeCast.
Exactly with the same conditions: filtered Liked Songs.

We've let our developers know about this and they're investigating. Just as a heads up, we’re not able to confirm if or when this will be resolved, but we'll let you know as soon as we do.

 

For now, we recommend keeping your Spotify app up-to-date to guarantee you get the latest features and fixes.

I have this problem too. On my android phone, ipad and 2 MacBooks (Catalina and High Sierra), so I think this is not a problem with the clientside software.

And it occur while connected to chromecast and a WiFi speaker from Bose. 

 

Hope this gets fixed soon!

I have been having the same problem every day since I signed up for Spotify in August. This problem happens on all my devices (Windows laptop, Mac laptop, two Android phones). It persists across reboots of the phone, clearing all the storage and caches for Spotify on all devices, rebooting the Chromecasts. It happens casting to Google Home Minis and two different generations of Chromecasts. It happens casting to individual devices or groups of multiple devices setup via Google Home. This makes Spotify frustrating on a daily basis because I can never use it like I want to.

 

I'm happy to do whatever is necessary to help walk through reproducing the issue or providing logs.

This happens to me both from the Liked Songs list and, more frustratingly, when I try to shuffle all the songs I like on a particular artist's page in the Android app.

I should mention that I have over 13,000 liked songs. This isn't an issue for my wife who has only about 1,000 liked songs.

We'd recommend updating your app, as this issue should be fixed now.

I'm using version 1.1.63.568.gda8cb5ac-a on my Mac, and I'm still having exactly this same problem.
