Connect only plays 100 song chunks of playlists

Description:

When I play music over connect the remote computer only seems to have access to the 100 subsequent songs from the song I start playing from. For example, if have a playlist of songs from 1:200 and start playing song 1, then press the previous song button instead of playing song 200 it plays song 100. Subsequent presses of the previous song button play tracks 99,98,97... etc. The same issue appears to occur if I have shuffle turned on.

To reproduce:

Additional information:

 Occurs both with computer to computer play as well as phone to computer play.

 Only occurs when the playlist is started on the "remote" device. For example, if I want to control my computer via my phone, the bug does NOT occur if I double click a song on my computer and then control everything from my phone. If, however, I open up my phone and select my computer as a remote device and then begin to play music via the phone, the error occurs.

Oh I didn't realise Google play didn't work well with Apple phones, thats
lame.
I was also on Spotify since it was released, but this bug meant that I
wasnt listening to music any more. Also gave me a chance to clean up some
of my playlists too.

I am having this SAME issue when using Connect, and even when just telling my Echo to shuffle any of my large playlists. Can you not fix this? I can't believe this has been going on for so LONG. Come on. Why do we pay so much for such limited functionality?

My only workaround is to just connect via bluetooth to my Echo and shuffle from my device. Works just fine. Seems like you could take this, run with it and fix it.

Got the same issue when streaming to an Echo 2nd Gen device via Spotify Connect.

Only the first 100 tracks from a large playlist or from my complete music library get shuffled,

which makes the shuffle function quite useless for me.

Just to add, it's not a problem inherent to the Echo device or my setup.

Shuffling large playlists etc. works fine with the same setup when I use my Amazon Music Unlimited account or the "My Media" skill for Alexa.

Really a shame to see that this issue hasn't been solved for more than 2 years now.

Spotify fix your shuffle function, there are threads going back to 2015 complaining about this and nothing has changed since then except it becoming WORSE.

Only 718 votes on an annoying bug that must affect lots of thousands of people - practically every Spotify user with bigger playlists and a Connect device / smart speaker.
