My Question or Issue

Since the latest update, I get the message in the notification bar "Connecting to spotify" (sorry, living in germany, hopefully I've translated correct)

This is new for me. The app is closed, so why is such an active reminder there?

Spotify Version: 8.4.78.530

Hey everyone,

Seems like this is fixed now.

If this still happens to you, please create a thread in the Help Boards.

Thank you, have a nice day!

Done... mine is  - 8.4.78.530 .

In a similar vein, could Spotify maybe, perhaps, include a changelog when updates are happening as opposed to the generic update that's been there for years?

TEMPORARY SOLUTION!!!

Go to the apps notifications setting and turn off external applications. I haven't received a single notification about connecting since turning it off but it'll still show the normal notification while you're playing music.

I didn't even know that setting was there - never seen it before!

Won't this mess up integration with Google Maps though?

Shouldn't break the connection, this just disables notifications from showing.

My solution was to clear cache data of Spotify application.

EDIT: It wasn't. Or at least not for longer then few minutes.

You can also set it to low importance, which blocks visual and sound. However, I had mine turned off and was still able to use controls on Google maps
