Connecting to spotify.... in Android Notification

 Since the latest update, I get the message in the notification bar "Connecting to spotify" (sorry, living in germany, hopefully I've translated correct) 

This is new for me. The app is closed, so why is such an active reminder there?

Same problem here, notification keeps popping up every 15-60 seconds or so even after force closing app. I tried this as a temporary workaround and it seemed to work. Long press on Spotify app icon -> App info -> Notifications -> turn Uncategorized off. But could be a coincidence in timing as well. Didn't dwell deeper. Turning off all notifications in the same view should do the trick in any case.

I encounter the same problem since I updated to Pie: incessant Spotify notifications. Screenshot "not permitted in this community".

Same issue. The app is also showing up in the recently opened apps screen within settings, despite never opening it. I tried screenshots, but kept receiving an error message when posting.
