Current April 2022 Premium offer activates one month instead of the expected three

Status: Fixed

We've received some reports from previous Premium users trying to avail our current offer for them, that the received Premium period is one month instead of three.

Hey folks,

Once more thanks for writing regarding this.

Everything should be working as expected now, so we're marking this as Fixed.

The info from all who posted and voted on this issue has been forwarded to the right teams, so their Premium time should be extended, provided the eligibility criteria have been met.

If you are sure you met the eligibility criteria for the offer but didn't receive the correct Premium time, reach out to our Support team for further investigation on your individual case.

To confirm, the criteria are:
  • 3 months free Premium: This offer is available to new users who have never had Premium before. (Note that this is per user, not per account!)
  • 3 months Premium for the price of 1: This offer is available to returning users who had Premium in the past, but have reverted back to our free service on or before March 15th 2022.

Post in Help and share all the relevant details if there's anything else you'd like to report.

Cheers!

I signed up for the advertised spotify 3-month plan for $9.99, but after paying, recieved and email reciept that said I had paid for ONE month of service at $9.99; on my accccount page, it says I will be charge another another $9.99 one month from now... So rather than recieving what I paid for, I am getting the ol' bait and switch. I don't like that. How do I get the advertised price?????? I am still seeing the advertisement for the 3 month / $9.99 plan... so... why can't I sign up for it????????

Status changed to: Under investigation

Hey  everyone,

We've received some reports regarding the duration of the currently running three-months offer for past Premium users being reduced to one month, upon activating it.

This is currently being investigated. Make sure to click +VOTE and post a comment in the thread that you're also experiencing this so we can pass your info on to the right teams.

We'll keep you posted here on any updates as we receive them.

Thank you!

Me too - I'm disappointed that my attempt to subscribe hasn't worked and feel more ripped-off than ever. Spotify tortures you with hideous ads to force you into subscribing (and thereby subsidising its output) then can't even keep its word - but I am glad to hear this was an error rather than a deliberate fraud and hope it will be rectified before I am charged for another month.

It would be nice if Spotify understood that not all if its users are youths who love the sound of screeching and tailored its advertising aand other content to make it more appropriate to the wide diversity of users around the world.

I signed up for the 3 months free and I checked my billing date which is next month, but that’s not 3 months. I want this fixed ASAP. Don’t care for false advertising.

It hapend the same to me, please solve the problem and give the promised 3 months free.

Hello

I am brand new to spotify and am trying to get the 3 free month trial under the premium tab. I keep getting 'Sorry, you are not eligible for that plan. Here are some other ways to get Premium' message. How can this be resolved?

I sure hope these people are compensated - this is a real problem.
