Daily Mixes Don't Refresh, Change, or Update

My Daily Mixes pretty much remain the same. They rarely update, playing the same songs ad nauseum. They are also not intuitive. The first daily mix is pretty accuarate, but I can only tolerate a small number of songs in the other mixes. 

 

I continue to like new songs, so it should be refreshing, adding more options. Why don't the Mixes refresh and add new songs? Why do they remain static? And why do I have the same series of mixes?

 

I should add that this occurs regardless of the platform, and whethere my system is up-to-date or not. This is a Spotify flaw.

Yep, it's been about six months for me. I've kept Android fully updated, and the Spotify app, and am still stuck with the same daily mixes day after day. Some people seem to have had joy communicating directly with support, but I tried that for weeks and they mostly ignored me besides some basic troubleshooting and then told me mine was an "isolated case". I knew it wasn't, so did their work for them and sent link after link of other users reporting the same problem. Eventually they had a look here but yeah, they've stopped bothering. Too hard basket, it seems. Which means Spotify is useless for me.

I brought it up again while chatting with someone through contact form. They said that if I know someone with this issue, they should contact Spotify too.

I recently submitted some screenshots of the playlists that they requested after directly messaging with Spotify about this problem in detail. It took quite a few messages with email support to get them to properly understand, some agents were better than others though. Some seemed like they hadn't even read the previous messages in the same thread they were replying to. The last message I got from them said they were forwarding the information I provided to the technical team, but I don't get the feeling this issue is very high priority. If I don't hear back in the next week with a status update I plan on sending the CEO a message about this with a link to this forum as well. It shouldn't take this long to resolve a prob with a core feature of the service. If I was a premium member I would be livid and demanding a refund.

Yep, I sent screenshot after screenshot, logged in to the web browser and desktop browser and showed them that the daily mixes there were different from on my phone (and changing daily)... nothing. They looked at this issue through this forum briefly, after I'd messaged them dozens of links to people having this issue, but gave up pretty quickly. I've given up as well and am using Google Play Music. After the initial irritation at things not being the same as I'm used to, and having to set up all my favourites over again, I like it a lot. Only problem is it uses a lot more data to stream so I've had to muck about with my mobile plan. Every now and then I check Spotify just in case, but they can't expect me to stay loyal to a platform that can't be bothered fixing a major problem!

Hi everybody, 

 

There's been a fix provided for Daily Mixes yesterday. 

I though that it might possibly resolved this issue as well. Are your Daily Mixes still not updating?

Hello,

at least i have Daily Mix playlists updated every 3-4 days - not every day as supposed.

It is not irritating, but I'm listening music a lot and often I have no new staff to browse through.

I will check tomorrow.

Yep my mixes have updated, I'll have to check tomorrow or the next day to see if they change again

Yeah I'm experiencing the exact same issue. And I always use my phone to listen to music on Spotify. I'd say I'd listen to about 7 hours of music on my phone per day and my dailys aren't refreshing. I'm on the latest update and I've relied on those to send me new and interesting songs every day

So, after the message that an update was available for the daily mixes, I did some tests. First I opened the current installation of the spotify player (windows), went to daily mix 1, that appeared to be stuck. Noted down the songs in that mix. Next, I uninistalled spotify, downloaded the latest version and installed that. Went to daily mix 1. These were the same songs, but, now the daily mix did reload after the first screen of songs. So YES.

Now, today (a day later), opened spotify again in the morning, figured I'd take daily mix 2 now, since I played 1 yesterday. Guess what,... that stopped playing after the first screen. So NOPE, not fixed yet, at least not on windows.

 

edit: but daily mix 1 does update today as well (so 2 days in a row). This behavious is very strange.

It seems problem was resolved. For 5 days I'm receiving new mix every day.

Reoccurance is possible (based on previous experience), so please do not lock the thread.
