Default storage location resets after restart

Hi. Since recent app update (about two months) most times after restartingmy phone default storage location gets resetted to phone memory an all downloaded playlists change to not downloaded. After setting them to download again and changing storage location it detects a 2.5GB data folder but deletes everything and redownloads them anyways.

It's extremely annoying and it's wearing my SD card a lot.

My phone is an Xperia Z1 running under Android 5.1.1

Could you let us know the Spotify version you're using at the moment? Also, could you check if removing your SD card, restarting your device and inserting in again helps? If possible, please let us know if your Xperia Z1 is able to update to a newer Android version.

@Aichel I'm using version 8.4.26.770armV7. My phone can't be officially upgraded past Android 5.1.1.

I tried removing SD card and the issue keeps occurring.

It's not every time I restart, once in five or something around that.

Is there any other SD card you can try with? Changing it for a while to see if the same thing happens could help us understand what's going on.
