My Question or Issue

I've seen this issue mentioned once or twice elsewhere, but always as part of a larger issue that has been closed.

The filter bar inexplicably doesn't do anything when you view your albums. In every other tab, it works as expected (although in slightly different ways on different pages, which is a little jarring). For people like me who have a lot of saved albums that make it difficult to scroll through, not being able to filter by say artist makes it more difficult to find the music we're looking for (and it's especially frustrating that a filter bar is present, just impotent).

The attached screenshot shows the album view with text entered in the filter bar (and 'Enter' pressed), without filtering out albums that are completely unrelated to the text (or any albums at all).

Thank you!

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

Hey @Tadtiger13,

Thanks for this, I've personally been able to replicate this, I'm going to do some further research on this and I'll get back to you as soon as I can! 🙂

Nothing happens when trying to find an album by title in the Albums view, even if I hit enter.

In the screenshot I'm trying to find "Check Your Head" by the Beastie Boys, that is in my saved albums.

Hey @tk-420

Thanks for reaching out to us about this here in the Community.

Would you mind trying  a quick reinstall of the app in order to start fresh with Spotify on your MacBook? Suggesting it since what you reported might get easily fixed in this way.

Let us know how you get on. We'll look out for your reply and be available if there's anything else we can help with!

Mario, thanks for reaching out, but I tried that and it's still the same.

My Question or Issue

Album filtering no longer seems to work on Spotify 1.1.32.618.gda5638a6 on Mac.

I click on Albums in the sidebar and type a few letters in the Filter field but it does not filter.

Filtering does work for Liked Songs and Artists.

Looks like a bug - can anyone confirm, please?

Hey @patrickgilmour! 👋

I've done a bit more research on this recently for another user and right now the behaviour is known by Spotify but it's been confirmed this is intentional. Spotify currently have an idea for this feature to be working here

If right now you follow the artists of the saved albums, you should be able to access an Artist page with only your saved songs through a search as a work around.

Keep well,

manuscriptmastr

Can confirm I suddenly experience this bug, as I have used this feature frequently. When I navigate in the MacOS desktop application to "Albums", type part of an album name (to clarify, not an artist name) into the "Filter" input, and press enter, nothing changes. I have restarted the application and the issue persists.
