This is fixed in version 1.1.66

Rollouts take a while so hopefully you'll see the update soon. You will see a blue dot in the top right options menu when an update is rolled out to you and available.

Update will show as available also when going to File ---> About Spotify

1) I just updated Spotify (Windows here) and the usual right-click menu over the album cover when listening to a song was gone. There are some options when right-clicking the artist name, though. Is this intended?

2) Clicking the album cover used to scroll and select the song being played. This works when listening to a playlist, but no more if listening to the Liked songs. The screen flashes, then nothing.

Please help, thanks.

My Question or Issue

Since today right clicking the cover art of the currently played song doesn't do anything. It used to bring up the list of things you can do (add to playlist, add to queue etc.), but now it does absolutely nothing. Left clicking still works, it scrolls the playlist to the spot where the currently played song is, but right clicking the cover art does nothing. This makes adding songs to playlists a bit more difficult, and I don't see why this would be intentional.

please fix it

Hey @rubs

1:  I have been having the same issue.

This issue was just fixed in the web player at open.spotify.com and since the web player and desktop app share the same infrastructure then that means the fix should also be rolled out to the desktop app soon.

2: I tried this and I have the same issue. It works in playlists but not liked songs. Hopefully this is fixed in the future.

I'm having the exact same issues and its so frustrating. It used to work fine before, and right clicking the picture was the way i share my songs with people. Now if I want to share it, I have to dig through my 4k songs liked songs folder which is impossible. Very frustrating. I hope it gets fixed soon

My Question or Issue

Before the latest update of the desktop client, I could add the currently-playing song to a playlist by right-clicking on the song (in the bottom-left corner) and then selecting the necessary options in the pop-up menu that appeared. But since the latest update (1.1.65.643.g2d707698-a), the pop-up menu doesn't appear when I right-click on the currently-playing song, so I can't add the song to a playlist. Is this a bug or is it intentional? If it's intentional, how am I supposed to add the current song to a playlist from now on?

The new desktop app I downloaded yesterday made all the album artwork low quality. It looks terrible. Also, I can't right-click on the cover anymore.

Have the same issue. Have used this as my main method of adding songs to playlists that I create. There are workarounds but these only add additional steps to the previous process

Hello.

I have same problem too. Really I'm starting to believe, that Spotify is worse and worse. It was also one of My method to add new songs. It is more quicker, than search It on album.

Same problem, I want to remove the current song from the playlist and right clicking the song name doesn't work any more. This was working up until the last update and is something I would use very often. How did something like this get through testing???
