My Issue:

Hi everyone, recently I noticed tha when I startup Spotify, it automaticly creates a folder named "Downloads" inside my documents in Windows 10, I know it is Spotify creating this folder because everytime I delete it and startup Spotify it creates it immediatelly, I don't want this folder. Is there a way to disable this ?

Hey folks,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app up to date to ensure you're on the latest version.

Thanks again!

Hey there @arturott

Welcome to the Spotify Community and thanks for posting here.

Just to confirm, can you send us a screenshot of the contents of the Downloads folder as well?

Can you also let us know which version of the Spotify app you're currently using?

We suggest you check this article to get more info on where Spotify does store files on your device.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have more questions.

The version of Spotify I'm using is: 1.1.22.633.g1bab253a

The folder "Downloads" is empty all the time, I have the show hidden files check box activated in Windows 10.

In Spotify app is deactivated the "Show local files" check box too.

I did read the article you suggested and I'm afraid the solution is not there.

Thanks in advance for your time 😃 !!!.

Same thing is happening to me: an empty "Downloads" folder is being created in My Documents.  After deleting the folder, it gets recreated when Spotify is opened and it's a different folder than the folder that contains my downloaded songs.  I'm on Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1809 and Spotify version 1.1.24.91.g4ca6d5eb.  Thanks for any help you can provide!

Same here with Spotify Version 1.1.24 and Windows 10 1909.

Any ideas?

You still have the problem ? Seems to me that we're not going to get any help from Spotify here =( !!!.

Just checked and it's no longer happening!  I haven't done anything different since I made my first post so I'm not sure what fixed it.  I'm on the same version of Windows (1903) and Spotify (1.1.24.91.g4ca6d5eb).

I take that back - issue is still occurring.  Folders weren't refreshing until I closed and reopened File Explorer.
