My Issue:

Hi everyone, recently I noticed tha when I startup Spotify, it automaticly creates a folder named "Downloads" inside my documents in Windows 10, I know it is Spotify creating this folder because everytime I delete it and startup Spotify it creates it immediatelly, I don't want this folder. Is there a way to disable this ?

Hey folks,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app up to date to ensure you're on the latest version.

Thanks again!

Same **bleep** here. Created a cmd to delete it after starting the Spotify app but probably just will remove the app of my laptop.

I removed the app of my PC... It's a pity that nobody from Spotify wants to help.

It still happens on Linux with Spotify version 1.1.26.501-1, some fix for this?

Jed_H

Not fixed for me either on Windows 10 Enterprise (latest stable build)

And I'm running an even newer version of Spotify...

1.1.27.472.gf6574b97 (Microsoft Store version)

Pretty terrible support, really....

I mean it's bad enough they can't design a native client for Windows, that's markedly better than some 3rd-party Spotify clients created by ~1-person.

Status changed to: Under investigation

Hey folks,

We've received reports that this is still an issue for some users after updating to the latest Spotify version.

If this is the case, do you mind performing a clean reinstall of the app on your device to see if that fixes things?

If not, then we'd like to ask you to provide the following info:

  • your device + OS version
  • the exact Spotify version running on your device

Thanks! We'll make sure to pass that info on and let you know as soon as we have any updates.
