[Desktop] Unable to resize Friend Activity and Library bars on Windows

My Question or Issue


Issues with fitting layout in app (can't adjust windows).


The desktop app doesn't allow resizing of the Friend Activity and Library bars when the language setting is changed to a language such as Hebrew and Arabic, making the desktop app window mirror due to the right-to-left writing.

The developer team at Spotify has received your feedback and worked on this. We're happy to say that the side columns on the Desktop app are now resizable!


If you can't resize them, please run a clean reinstall of the Spotify app, as described here. This will assure you're running the latest app version 🙂

I can't resize the playlists bar nor the friend's activity bar

Could you try logging out, restarting your PC, and logging back in?


If that doesn't make any difference, you could try running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. This can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. We also suggest downloading the app again from the Microsoft Store.


Keep us posted on how it goes.

It worked right after I did all of the steps and it looked like the previous version, but when I closed and reopened the app the new look went back and the problem still happening...

Could you let us know your screen's resolution? Also, can you try on a different PC or laptop and let us know if the same happens there?


Lastly and just to clarify, it's not possible to adjust the Friend Activity bar in the New Desktop app, but you should be able to resize the left panel.

If possible, could you confirm if you still experience the same when logging in to your Spotify account on a different laptop or PC? 


This will help us see if the issue might be related to the specific device setup.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. 


Just to double-check, could you confirm if the second PC you tried this on is connected to the same network as your original device?


If it's not, make sure you try connecting to a different network (for example, if this is happening when you're connected to 3G/4G, try switching to a WiFi connection). A good idea is to also try using a mobile hotspot.  


In case it works with another connection, it would be a good idea troubleshooting further the original one (for example restarting your router). You can also reach out to the service provider of the original network so that they can take a look on their end as well.
