Status: Fixed
0 Likes

Thread: 364532

Status: Resolved

Description:

Since update 0.9.0 the cache location resets every time you exit the app.
This has two side effects:
Any content you had downloaded before 0.9.0 is gone
Any users with a small primary hard disk are unable to download tracks

Additional information:

2013-04-29

You can now download the latest version from spotify.com; this will resolve this bug.

2013-04-26

We have started rolling out version 0.9.0.129 to users and can confirm this bug is resolved.

If you don't have this latest version yet, do not worry. It will reach everyone soon.

Pro tip: log out and in of the Spotify app around the time of a new release; sometimes this triggers an update.

Strange. I've just installed Spotify again and still get the old versinen.

Goodman

Hi CGD789, re-installing Spotify doesn't guarantee a update.

CGD789

It was exactly what I meant. You have a new version and still you do not get it at a new installation. This is precisely what is bad.

Luddie

It seems it can take a while to get this new version. Still don't have it.

I forced a re-install by manually download the installer from the website of spotify.

I altered the storage location to my alternative path, restarted spotify, and YES, now it seems to be solved.

Thanks for the help.

Can confirm that v0.9.129 is now available from the Spotify.com download pages (the Windows version anyways since I can easily check!), if you are still waiting on the auto-update to correct this bug you can manually download the installer from:

Windows - http://download.spotify.com/Spotify%20Installer.exe

Mac - http://download.spotify.com/Spotify.dmg
