Desktop app doesn't scroll up when moving song to the top

Hey folks,

We have received reports that since a recent update, it's not possible to drag tracks upwards in a playlist on the desktop app if you want to manually rearrange them.

When reaching the edge of the current view, the playlist does not scroll up to allow the rearrangement. Scrolling down works.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone! Just make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

Very much looking forward to an update, so I can move my tracks around again (which I do on a daily basis)!

At the moment I am using the in-browser/non-app version of spotity to move my songs around 👍,

it works perfectly fine there, but still having the issue in desktop app.

Hello.

The same problem is in my Spotify.

Windows 10
Spotify for Windows version 1.1.74.631.g0b24d9ad

Also, I stopped being able to see what my friends are playing, despite that the setting "see what your friends are playing" is enabled.

Drag and drop operations are notoriously difficult to create programming unit tests for; the absence of such a unit test most likely led to this bug. Hopefully, a unit test can be devised...or this scenario can be added to the list of tests requiring a live user. While on the subject of moving songs around in a playlist...it would be great if Spotify could support cut and paste operations as well...because dragging an item from the bottom to the top of a large playlist is time-consuming. Looks like Spotify uses the Chromium Embedded Framework /HTML5, so cut and paste is limited, unfortunately. The shell application should be able to hook the messages associated with cut and paste operations in the list view, allowing it to implement cut and paste operations associated with the Chromium container. At the very least...it would be cool to have a menu item associated with a song in a playlist that lets you move the item to the top of the list. Thanks.
