Devices are not syncing

Multiple users report that playback throughout their devices is not syncing. Apparently, this makes it possible to play different content from the same Spotify account simultaneously on different devices, but users can't control what they're listening to using Spotify Connect across the devices and cannot use the Jam feature.

Hey folks,

Thanks for the provided details!

This should now be fixed and if you're still experiencing the same issue, we recommend updating the app to the newest version.

Cheers 🙂

I am having the same issue as above, iPhone 13 running iOS 17.3, and Macbook Pro intel running Sonoma 14.2.1. Web app is syncing just fine in Google Chrome but not on the Web app. Have tried the above solutions to no avail.

this is really happening, and sometimes it's not synchronized on the mobile device, web player and desktop app at the same time.

Having a similar issue with my local files. Random local files (i have a decent amount) will sync but if i close out my mobile apple version of Spotify those songs are grayed out. I have a brand new iphone 15 and eveything is up to date.

And all this time I thought it was my Sonos who was misbehaving.

My Question or Issue

I haven noticed performance issues with Spotify Connect over the past 2 days (06/02/2024 onwards). Funny enough we actually produce Spotify Connect products ourselves. The issue affects multiple products (including products from competitors)  and within our own range, it seems to also affect products that use different technology providers at their core. The issue does not appear to be related to our network. As we can see this issue at home and have had reports from customers.

The main issues is Spotify Connect will be slow to or unable to connect to available devices on my network (despite them showing up on my device list).

When connected, pressing skip will sometimes skip 2 tracks instead of 1. Synchronisation between the app and product will be lost, the product will be playing one track while the app is showing another.

When I play a song on my PC, it doesnt show up on my phone. Same goes the other way. Also, when i play a song on my pc, I can play a different one on my phone than on my pc, but i am still logged in with the same account. I cant find anyone with the same problem. The screenshots were taken at the same time.
