Hello everyone, I've been experiencing a problem with Spotify lately with the 'Listening Along' feature on Discord. Now I'm not sure if it's specifically a Spotify issue or a Discord issue, but I'm certain it's related. My friend starts off listening to their playlist on shuffle. As their listening to a tune, I join them. Now it starts off well other than I'm somehow 6-7 seconds ahead of the song. After the song ends, they are on a new song however I'm still on the previous song at the end. My friend would have to manually click on a new song for me to listen along. We've never experienced this issue before, and it's even worse when I'm hosting. I don't remember changing anything in settings or anything around that nature. Is there a fix to this problem? I would appreciate all help. Thank you
Hey there folks,
Thanks for all your reports about delays when using the Listen Along feature on Discord!
We've reported this to the right teams who will be looking into this.
If you're experiencing this, please make sure to first try the following:
Perform a clean reinstallation of the Spotify app with these steps.
Make sure you're rocking all the latest versions available (for example, any pending software, driver or Spotify app updates are installed).
Check your hosts files, there's more info on how to do that on Windows devices here.
Try a different internet connection. If it works with another connection, we recommend contacting the service provider of the original network for more information.
If none of these do the trick, you can add your +VOTE and details in a comment - we'll make sure to pass them on to our tech teams:
The exact Spotify version you're on (on the desktop app click the three dot menu in the top left corner > Help > About Spotify)
The exact Discord version you're on
The device this is happening on and its operating system version. It'd be helpful if you could give it a try from a different device and let us know if it persists from there as well.
We'll keep you all posted on any updates we have here.
