Downloaded songs stop playing and are no longer downloaded after reopening Spotify

Device:

 Lenovo Phab Plus

Operating System Version:

 Android 5.0.2

Spotify Version:

 4.7.0.878

Description:

I just installed a brand new sd card on my device and transferred all my songs there, but most of the songs stop playing after some amount of time (or don't play at all). If you close Spotify then reopen it, the songs that stopped playing are no longer marked as saved. Usually, it's just a chunk of the song that is missing, (ex. 1:35 until 2:10) but the song is still "deleted" after restarting Spotify.

To reproduce:

idk how to force it, it just happens to most of my downloaded songs

Workaround:

Redownload the song then listen to the whole thing to see if it downloaded correctly. Repeat until the song plays without stopping. (usually takes 3 or more tries before working, so I just give up most of the time)

Additional information:

Everything was working fine before I installed the SD card

Sometimes, the album art also doesn't show up

Yes, I have tried reinstalling Spotify

I haven't tried redownloading everything, but since redownloading the first batch of problematic songs didn't work, I doubt redownloading everything will work (also, it takes a long time to download all the songs with just my 10Mbps connection)

The sd card is class 10 (Brand is SP)

Downloaded songs will stop even if I'm connected to WiFi

Downloading songs is also problematic, since I have to restart Spotify a few times before songs actually start downloading (it stays at 0% until then)

When stopped, the pause button still displays a pause sign, not the play triangle

I can send screenshots if needed

@Wazzup Hey there!

In this case, we'd recommend deleting your offline devices by heading here

Then, uninstall the app and remove the SD card. After this, reinstall the app following these steps

Let us know if you keep having the same issue.

🙂

(PS: You can move the storage back to the SD card, no worries)
