Everytime I log on to Spotify, it redownloads my playlists.. Why?

So far am not really enjoying my subscription and thinking of canceling it.

Hey @GuylaineG! Thanks for letting me know about this!

That definitely doesn't sound right. Could you try to reinstall the Spotify app with these steps? That might help here. Also, I'd love to hear what you think Spotify could improve. I can pass on your feedback or take a closer look! 🙂

Have a great day!

GuylaineG

Ok.. I tried that. And it's still doing it for some playlists.. Annoying!!

SergioDavid

Thanks for getting back to us.

Just to be sure, what device, operating system, and Spotify version are you using? Also, when you log out, are you logging back in with a different account?

We'll see what we can suggest once we have this info.

GuylaineG

I'm on a Sony Xperia, Android version 7 and Spotify version 8.4.32.623. I always log back in using my Facebook account.

Does that answer all the info you need?

Alfredo

Hey @GuylaineG!

Thanks for all the info so far.

Let's try following this troubleshooting to make sure you don't have multiple Spotify accounts that could be causing this.

Also, try logging in here, and head to Offline devices. We suggest removing all Offline devices from there since this could also be caused by a duplicate device.

Let us know how it goes.

GuylaineG

Ok I followed all the steps. I did have a second account with email so I deleted it and should only have this one which I log thru Facebook. I removed offline devices.

When I logged back on, all my lists were not downloaded anymore. Before, it was just a playlist or two that I had to redownload. This is getting frustrating.

So we won't know if all this worked until I finish downloading and test it again.

I will advise tomorrow. 2am here..good night.

SergioDavid

Thanks for getting back to us.

That sounds great. Just get back to us once you're able to test things out.

We'll be right here waiting for the results.

GuylaineG

Well I spent most of the morning redownloading all my playlists and the problem is still there.. It keeps redownloading some lists.. Not all of them. The strange thing is when I use my tablet it doesn't do that. What else can I try now?

SergioDavid

Hey @stevenhayes349, welcome to the Community.

Try restarting your device after changing the storage location to see if it helps. If not, let us know what Spotify version and OS you're using.

@GuylaineG Thanks for getting back to us with that info.

At this point, it'd be best to reach out to our team via Twitter or Facebook. They'll be able to take a closer look at your account to see what's going on.

Be sure to let us know how it goes!
