Downtime April 16: Android apps crashing

Hey folks! Some of you may currently experience an issue with your Android apps closing out when tapping on the Now Playing bar. This is being looked into and we'll keep you posted in this thread 🙂

I have a Samsung A12. I have been using spotify for a long time. I javelin recently noticed that that after 3 songs my app crashes. I have cleaned out my cache, uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted my phone and it still keeps happening. There is no update in my app store. I have enough storage. This has never happened until this week. It also does it on my tabket which is also a Samsung. What am I supposed to do now.

Thanks for reaching out.

To investigate this further, can you please let us know the following:

• Are you getting any error messages when this happens? 
• Have you made sure that Spotify is set as an exception in any battery- and memory-optimizing services on your devices? 
• Does this happen when you play a specific playlist? What about podcasts?
• Does it happen when using the web player?

If possible, try logging into a different account so we can narrow down the possible cause of this behavior.

My Question or Issue

Whenever i pull up the bar on a song it immediately crashes. Ive cleared cache, ive logged out, ive uninstalled, ive restarted, ive done a CLEAN uninstall, restarted then installed, ive toggled airplane mode and nothing works. Im at my wits end

After the latest update i have the same issues. 

Samsung galaxy s23. Phone app.

When i press on the bottom of the song to open its page it crashes the app and says "Spotify stopped responding". 

I redownloaded the app, cleared cache and reset whatever i could and it doesnt work.

Seeing the same behavior on an s24 plus. Can play songs fine, but as soon as you click on the song bar at the bottom to pull up the detailed controls, explore, and lyrics sections, it crashes.

I also have the same Problem after the latent Update, I'm on Samsung Galaxy Zflip 4, I'm on Android 15 and One UI 7.0

I tried all of the above mentioned stets but the issue won't disappear.

• After newest update I also have this issue. Galaxy s24 ultra. I can play songs and interact with all other menus on mobile but if i click on the bottol banner it crashes. I cannot acess scrubbing or loop8ng or a number of pther features exclusive to that menu on mobile.
