Downtime November 18th: Spotify app crashing on iOS

I have been experiencing this issue since this morning, before I updated my iPhone XR's iOS (I was on 14.7) but also after(14.8.1). My Spotify app is on version 8.6.80.

keeps stopping mid song when playing over bluetooth to my car. really annoying and dangerous for the app to do this while i’m driving. uninstall and reinstall, logging out, clearing cache, updating app, all that did not work.
