Downtime September 30th: Unable to play new Podcasts on Desktop and Mobile

Hey!

We received some reports that New Podcasts episodes are not playing on Desktop and Mobile.

This is being looked into.

We’re happy to announce that this should now be fixed for everyone - just make sure you're running the latest version of Spotify.

I've tried to clear cache, also I have the latest version of spotify. The problem is also reported by my followers, so it is not just mine

Regardless of the podcast, as one episode finishes, the next will not play until the app is restarted (all platforms)

 

Deleting and re-installing app makes no difference.

Most podcasts don't play when queued. Some show an error when adding to queue that says "Cannot Queue This Content"

Some podcasts don't play, but particularly, not one episode of The Jordan B. Peterson podcast is loading. Playback is stuck at 0:00

It's been going on for over a week now, just out of the blue.

Another one is the Weird Darkness podcast. Same problem. @OscarDC

Hey @geeedubya@RPM2182 and @Gypsydangerconsort!

 

Could you try  a different network connection / cellular data to see if the issue would persist? It's worth logging in to a different account, if possible (a friend's or a relative's would do) to check if you'd be able to play the podcasts there.

Just did a clean uninstall. Podcasrs still aren't playing. Even on the web player

We appreciate the info! Could you also try what @Yordan has suggested to see if it makes any difference?
Creating a new account for testing purposes may be a good alternative here as well.
