Operating System Version: Windows 7
Spotify Version: N/A
Description: Upon launching spotifysetup.exe, the installer works for about 3 seconds before giving a popup saying that it can't downlaod Spotify, and to click OK to download in browser. Then gives error code 57
Thanks for bringing this up to our attention.
Can you look for this folder on your PC: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Users? If you're able to find it, make sure to erase it. Then, restart your PC and install Spotify by heading over to https://www.spotify.com/download/windows/.
Let us know how it goes.
How did it go? Are you still having this issue? Keep us posted :)
Hi @Lis- I was actually able to fix the issue! A quick redownload of the installer and then running it as an administrator fixed the issue! (Who knew Administrator privelages could be so helpful?! ;) )
Thank you for the reply!
That's great to hear.
Keep on rocking your tunes :)
I found this folder, as directed above, followed the instructions, restarted my computer, and completed this process 3 times. I am still receiving error 57 and cannot download spotify. Please help me resolve this issue.
The solution provided isn't a solution at all! It still doesn't work! I don't even have the "users" folder created yet..."spotify" folder is empty
