Mine has been doing the same. I pay premium! This needs to be fixed now! Lawsuits will ensue.
Every time I search I get the message 'An error occurred, please try searching again' - Tried web player, desktop app (Mac), and iPhone app.

Seems like it's a problem with Spotify servers (10:22PM EST on 11/24/16). Pretty widespread issues across multiple platforms and devices. Just gotta wait it out. Sucks, but yeah.
Definitely a server issue. I just tried searching using the API and it didn't work either.
Same error for me.
Just connected to US-California servers through a VPN, and search worked fine. Seems like it's isolated to US-East or US-Northeast regions only.
EDIT: Just tried US-Chicago servers, works as well. Definitely isolated to eastern regions of the US.
