Gapless does not work on Chromecast Audio

Gapless playback does not work when connected to a Chromecast Audio.

Using either a Nexus 5X running Android 7.0, or an ASUS tablet running Android 4.2.2.

Gapless works as expected with normal playback on the devices themselves.

Spotify version 6.9.0.1212, Chromecast firmware version 1.21.74816

This issue is incorrectly tagged "not an issue". 

It should be tagged "not right now".

It's an important feature request for some people,  it makes classical music sound terrible, and a reason why I'm considering migrating all our playlists (laboriously) to Google play music.

Moving the playlists is not at all laboriously if you spend 8.99 €/$ on STAMP, which does all the work for you.

So is it on dev's roadmap? Is it hard because of an issue with Chromecast or is it that it's not a priority for Spotify?

 It is easy to implement  Chromecast has APIs for it  Spotify simply has to make use of them  

I am disappointed about this  and its the main reason that I won't extend my trial membership

Spotify, please fix this (implement gapless playback on Spotify Connect, and specifically on Chromecast Audio).

Such a dissapointment this functionality is still not available . When there are loads of other music apps that support it.  Thinking of moving to Google Play !
