My Question or Issue

Garmin Zumo 595 connection to Spotify on my OnePlus 3T was working well with Spotify

Since last Spotify update, connection always fails.

I reinstalled old Spotify and it works with this version.

But not with last Spotify version.

Does anybody has the same issue ?

Right now, we're not able to provide an exact timeline for a complete fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app up to date, along with your device software, to ensure you have the latest features and fixes.






I've just purchased a Zumo 595LM, everything else works fine but Spotify remains 'disconnected' in the source menu despite me being connected to my phone and having opened the spotify app on my mobile as directed. It's driving me mad.


How can I download the old version that you have mentioned still works?


Android S8+

All firmware/updates completed

Factory reset. Zumo

Re-install of spotify and phone restart.

Everything unpaired in bluetooth - every pairing combination re-tried.

Everything else working well.

Thanks for the info, the old version at least connects but doesn't show media images,


I've contacted Garmin, explaining there is a clear issue with software/firmware following either their latest update or spotify's and was told "we haven't had this reported, please monitor this and try re-pairing" 🙄


Please let me know if you manage to sort it with all software up to date as is preferable. 




Using Moto G6 plus same connection to zomo 959 failing all the time since installment of last update 


Exactly the same here:
Brand new Moto G6 Plus - Zumo 595 will not connect to Spotify.
Any solutions yet?


I've been in contact with Garmin's support centre who told me:
"I have actually raised a ticket on this issue as it appears this has come up before and is being looked into with Android phones. I have all the info we need to get this addressed and looked into..."
That said, the Zumo's software hasn't had any recent updates, but Spotify has had several so it's a safe bet the problem lies with Spotify.
I just hope someone is actually reading these posts!



I tried APK Mirror but my phone would not install the app.
Instead, I went to:

Their app installed correctly. I now have Spotify working on my Garmin again, but obviously this is just a workaround, rather than a solution.

I did contact Spotify support yesterday, but the chat session could only be described as a tragedy. Maybe it was the chap's first day.

Garmin are also aware, but I can't imagine there's much they can do from their end.

If you do go down the route of installing an earlier version of Spotify, make sure you turn auto-updates off for that particular app!
