Gear S3 - Tizen 3.0 - No way to permanently stop playback

Status: Not Right Now

In its current state, Spotify on Gear S3 after the Tizen 3.0 update is unusable: You can listen to and play music but when you close the app (using the "recent apps" button to close the application).  If you are done listening to music, and decide to make a phone call, use S. Voice or anything that requires the speaker, spotify will start to autoplay after the call is over.  This can literally be 6 hours after you have closed spotify.  

 

Example scenario: I went for a run yesterday morning.  Around 4 hours later I made a phone call using my watch.  After the call hung up, spotify started blaring the song out of my watch speaker while at work.  The *only* way to stop the playback is to uninstall the app.  There needs to be a way of stopping (not just pausing) music so it does not autoplay *every* time you use the watch speaker for anything.

Any update? Love using spotify but can't have it playing non stop after I close the app...

The only update what came was the Gear Manager otherwise unfortunately nothing

How long can it take to fix this!? Seriously there hasn't been any update since november 2017. Shouldn't be that hard..

Having the same problem here almost half a year after the issue was first reported. If I have Spotify installed on my watch (Gear s3) and have it in streaming mode I find that after using s-voice for anything eg: asking the time Spotify will start playing music from the last point it was paused. This happens on all three Spotify accounts I have tried. I have reset the watch, restarted the watch and reinstalled the app all of which has had no effect. Hopefully this problem can be resolved asap as it has gone off after accidentally activating s-voice in class multiple times which has been more then embarrassing.

Is there any update on this bug? I joined Spotify premium mostly for the sake of the gear S3 app and now it seems as if I'll need to uninstall the app .
