Hey there folks,

We really appreciate all your reports so far!

Our tech teams have looked into this, but weren't able to reproduce it. Since this issue could be caused by individual network setups, we'll mark it as Not Right Now as it's something that will need to be looked into individually or could get resolved by an overall system and/or functionality change.

If you're experiencing this, we'd recommend making sure to try all the steps below as these usually do the trick:
  • Thoroughly reinstall the app with these steps.
  • Check your firewall and antivirus software/apps to make sure Spotify is whitelisted or set as an exception.
  • Remove ALL entries from the Windows hosts file (not just the Spotify ones).
  • Uninstall any ad-blocker apps.
  • Run Windows in Safe Mode with Networking - if the app works with no issues there, we'd suggest adjusting different network settings and uninstalling any software that might be conflicting with Spotify's connectivity.
  • If possible, try connecting your desktop to the internet via a mobile hotspot. Should the app work through it, consult with your router's manufacturer.
  • If you're on a non-personal device or network (student laptop, student network, corporate laptop, corporate network) get in touch with the administrator for more help.
We hope this helps. If you still need a hand, you can start a new topic in the relevant Help board including all the steps you've tried so far and their outcome and we'll take it from there.

This is happening to me too. And when I search for ANYTHING, there's just a black screen. I can still play existing playlists and see what my friends are listening to. I have a Macbook Air if that helps anything.

I encounter the same error (on the mac app): most of the time I can't access the Home screen and see an error page instead (Something went wrong / Try reloading the page). Sometimes the screen shows, I don't know why, but it's very rare.

I have tried the clean reinstall, which worked... for a few hours, then later the error came back.

I have also tried connecting with a different network, it doesn't help. Anyway I don't think this problem has anything to do with my local bandwidth since I'm in a big city with an excellent network speed.

Sometimes when I try to reload the screen it starts loading but returns immediately to the error message: I see a wide ad banner briefly, less than a second, then it disappears and the error message comes back.

Had the same problem on Desktop. Solved it by changing the proxy type option from "Autodetect settings" to "No proxy", on Settings -> Proxy Settings, and then clicking on "Restart App".

Hey folks,

Thanks for reporting this issue to us.

The relevant team is currently testing out a fix for this. Could you make sure that your app is updated to the latest version and letting us know if the issue persists?

If it does, make sure to also provide us with the following info:

Thanks!

I've had this issue and a few others since the last major update a few weeks ago. I've tried all the suggestions found in this thread with no luck. My homepage just doesn't show on either of the accounts I have tried desktop or web. However, my account seems to be fine on my android phone with Spotify vrs 8.6.26.897. Also I can't click on any artist/song/album and get to their page. Nor does the search function work.

I'm on windows 10 fully updated.

Most recent Spotify d/l from the site.

other issues I'm seeing.

1) very long loading times for the desktop, around 1m.

2) I keep my Spotify on a vertical monitor so I don't always see all the information available on a line such as artist's names when there are several. Some areas like artist's names on the currently playing song used to auto-scroll on hover but no longer do so.

Hey @Shawnyve ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

Please keep in mind that this thread is dedicated to the Ongoing Issue about the "Couldn't find that page error" error on both the desktop app and web player. Can you confirm that this issue continues after performing a clean reinstall and clearing your host file?  Even though it was written for another topic, this page has instructions on how to do this.

If afterwards the issue continues, we'd appreciate screenshots of the error message at your end. Please make sure to include the exact Spotify version you're running on your desktop in you response.

As for the other issues you mention in your post - we invite you to start a new thread in the relevant Help Board and we'll happily assist you further there.

Keep us posted, cheers!

I was experiencing the same issues with the homepage, artist-pages and the search function.

For me it seems to be an issue with the proxy-authentication. I can get rid of the issue installing a local proxy on my machine and offloading the authentication to the corporate proxy. So removing the user-credentials from the Spotify-App and moving that to the local proxy fixed it for me.

Hopefully this can be fixed in the Spotify-App as it is a pretty inconvenient workaround.

Several weeks later, and a few updates later, Desktop Spotify App (on Win 10), still hangs, freezes, and gets the " ! Something went wrong" display on the home page. Then when you close it, and try to restart the app, you get "The Spotify app is not responding." It causes you to restart the computer to get it to work again.

Good evening. I'm reaching out for the same issues as others have on here. I've tried all the steps I could find from restarting modem and router, to do a full uninstall following the outdated steps listed in the linked page. But it iddn't matter I still have the same issues. previously it was just the app having the issue but after the most recent attempts with the fresh reinstall, the home page no longer loads. I've attempted to log in on other computer within and outside of my network in my home no computer works. But outside it does. My cell device also works at home with no issues. Do we have an ETA of when this will be fixed? The problems have only grown worse on my desktop to the point where my playlists delete themselves after listening to it once until I task manager the program close and relaunch to get all the info back.

Just for the record, I've been facing this problem for months and it finally went away after I updated my mac to Big Sur (before that I was still on Mojave).
