Issues with the Web player's volume slider

We're receiving reports that the Volume slider/control from the Web Player isn't functioning correctly. For some users, sliding the volume up automatically adjusts the volume lower instead, and vice-versa.

Reloading the Web Player page sets the volume to almost 0 or mute as well.

Hi folks,

We're excited to let you know that this should now be fixed for everyone! 😎

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

It happens when opening tabs, switching tabs, switching windows, and when the volume lowers I up the volume then it lowers again without opening tabs, switching tabs, switching windows.

Sometimes it just changes the volume bar without lowering the volume.

If I have Spotify on browser and desktop app open at the same time it also effects the desktop app.

I have the same or similar issue.

I'm also having this issue. It only lowers in the browser version and not the full downloaded Spotify software version.

Can confirm as well. The same issue as with others.

I experience this issue too, I think it doesn't happen in the App for me but it does happen in the browser version on both my Acer Aspire as well as a Dell laptop. The slider sometimes just starts at 0 volume. When i click on the slider at a location i want the volume to be at it seems to also not really follow correctly unless i drag it. When i drag it however it sometimes snaps back to 0 or a smaller volume.

For me on desktop, it's the volume slider jumping up and down when I scroll the wheel now.  Just a month or two ago it worked perfect, and had been for a very long time. Does MS Edge not play nice with spotify anymore?

Bikergofast

Why doesn't the web based player work anymore? It hasn't for a while, the volume slider jumps around and doesn't actually control volume when using the mouse wheel.

Same issue, Linux (arch btw lol).
Done all the obvious, cleared local storage, cache, cookies yada.
Solution: YouTube the songs instead. cry.
