Let us FINALLY BLOCK songs/artists/albums

People are asking for this since 5 years.

Just let us block or remove songs from lists we didnt create.

For example german rap artist most of the time only uplaod their "premium editions", which also include the instrumentals of every song.

So 50% of the album is useless.

Only fix atm would be to create a new personal list.

Same problem for the weekly mix.

When im too lazy to search a list, i just listen to the weekly mix.

But i just dislike some songs/artists and would like to not have them in my list next week.

In the beginning my weekly mix was great. ~50% were great songs. Now its max 2-3 and its getting worse each month.

I like Spotify as a company and for having a decent UI.   This issue is all over the forums and obviously a major concern for users.  (I imagine it is like Spotify playing whack-a-mole with requests to be able to block songs or artists). This request received over 3,200 votes but they did not give even a reason why they don't want to implement it.

This one over 4,000!

This makes it look like Spotify either does not care or there is money in it for them (which they care more about than us)

Will you at least give us a reason Spotify support?

I completely agree.

This is a user safety issue. I couldn't care less if wealthy artists pay to be on Featured or trending playlists. That is called paid placement, not a reflection of the popularity of their content.

I do not want my subscription dollars supporting the career of rapists, child abusers, domestic violence predators, and other "artists" who would better serve the world by being incarcerated.

This is fundamental flaw with this service, and it is making me question the integrity of Spotify's business model.

Let's be on the right side of history.

I do agree with the topic starter.

I don't see why it has a 'not an issue' status.

I know at least 12 Spotify Premium users and ALL of them vote for that "Block Artist/Song" button.

I personally have just one band i really don't want to hear.

Hate them would be too strong expression but i'm getting there as Spotify keeps playing them.

I did checked them as unfavorable in 'Discover Weekly' but that apparently is not enough.

I'm beginning to consider an alternative, just have to look for it.

And if i find it - bye-bye Spotify.

I can't believe this thread is so long and old and the option to block is being withheld.... There needs to be an easier way to block songs or albums... Because now there's a new "Mike Love" whose music is **bleep** and I don't want to hear when I want to listen to the original Mike Love. This is a frickin joke Spotify. We're paying for your service and being ignored. Makes me want to go back to Pandora... Get it together!

So is there any plans in near future to bring back block button? I am getting tired to listen songs i really dont like over and over again. I am paying for premium to listen songs I like, not**bleep** spotify want me to listen. I want to have clear answer. OR i will leave spotify alltogether.

Do the staff at Spotify realise they are referring everyone to a request from 8 years ago that was closed, and therefore doesn't really qualify as an existing idea since we cannot add votes or comment on it?

This has to be the most infuriating omission and no explanation has been offered as to why they would decline to implement it with 5,000 votes.

Hi there!!

It's too simple: I Love Metallica, but hate St. Anger. Why can't I block this album?

Thanks!!
