Local files do not sync between PCs

There is currently support for syncing local files between a PC and a mobile device. For example, I have a some local files on my home PC that I've added to a playlist and I'm able to open the same playlist on my iPhone and have the local files available. However, there is no way to open the same playlist on another PC (like my work PC) and have those local files appear in the same playlist. Seems odd that this only works on mobile and not on PC.

Any local files you'd like to play on a computer need to be saved and available in the computer's memory.

I do understand that currently this is the only way to acheive this. The reason for raising the issue is to point out the obvious discontinuity that exists across platforms. By adding a local file to a spotify playlist on PC1 I can have that entire playlist (including local files added on PC1) synced to my mobile devices but I wouldn't be able to have those files synced to PC2. This makes it such that I have the same exact playlist on multiple machines with different sets of songs. I'm curious as to why this feature is only available for PC-mobile syncing, but not PC-PC syncing. If it's available for 1 platform shoudln't it be available for all?

A great pull for having a premium account is the idea that you can have your library synced across devices, when in reality you cannot unless you manually copy files between PCs.

2022 and still no update! What the actual... Why should we have multiple sync folders on multiple PCs taking up multiple HD space? This is crazy!  @Alejandro_C @bckly
