Local files wont cast to chromecast

When I'm listening to music in my spotify library and try to put on a song that was originally a local file Chromecast disconnects and I can't play it.
I went through a lot of trouble to hook up my Chromecast for music to get better audio quality through my speakers SPECIFICALLY so I could bump my new Dr. Dre CD, which is not available on spotify. Very dissapointed that I cant and confused. The files are in .mp3 format as ripped by WMP.

Device is LG G5 fully updated. Chromecast on the same 5G wireless network.

I went through the article and everything checks out. All devices are
updated, I have no problem discovering the Chromecast. And 99% of my music
works just fine. As soon as I hit a song that I added locally to my laptop
from a CD, the Chromecast disconnects. If I'm playing a local song and try
to connect to Chromecast it says "Unable to connect". Once I go to a
regular library song I can connect again.

Just to make sure, were you able to listen to your local files using Chromecast in the past?

No, I just got a chromecast because my soundbar had poor Bluetooth quality
and wasnt producing the bass necessary to properly enjoy Dr. Dre. The
Chromecast plays through my Xbox to my tv and soundbar. Same issue if
connected directly to tv.

After some exhaustive research, we can confirm that it's not possible to cast local files to a Chromecast. However, we'll make sure to let the right team know it's something you'd like to see in the future.
