Login issues on iOS

We're getting reports from iOS users that are unable to login via the mobile app with the error message "You're offline. Check your connection and try again".

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone, just make sure that your app is updated to the latest version. You should also be able to use your VPNs as usual.

If you're still having trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks 🙂

I have the same problem. New 9th generation  iPad. Reinstalled new Spotify App. New password etc. tried everything. Spotify on iPhone still working perfectly…. Just not working on new iPad. Exact same messages as previously posted.

I have recently upgraded to an iPhone 13 from an 11.  I transferred all apps to the new phone, however I cannot login in to Spotify app on the new phone.

I updated the IOS version to 17.5.1 in case that was the issue, it did not help. When I try to login I get the message that I am offline, I have tried turning wifi and mobile data off and on, it makes no difference.  I can login in online no problem, and my old phone allows me to login in and out.

I have restarted my router, deleted and reinstalled app, checked firewalls etc.  wondering if it’s an issue with the iOS update?

 Thanks

Status changed to: Under investigation

Hey folks,

This is being investigated. If you’re experiencing this issue, make sure to click +VOTE and Subscribe to the thread to be notified of any developments.

We'd recommend trying the following workarounds to see if that makes any difference:

1. Access through the website, and add another login method. You can find more info on how to do this in the support site.
2. Request a magic link (on the mobile app login page there is a “login without password” button that you can select for this).

If that doesn't do the trick, could you also make sure to provide us with the following info, if you haven’t already:

  • Device + OS version

  • Exact Spotify version

Thanks!

Until the most recent update which I installed last night, I never had an issue with my VPN  mobile security that protects my phone 24/7. I never have had any issues with Spotify with VPNs until this update. Just never and I’ve been a premium member for over 4 years.

It’s the update as now any vpn related app interferes or I should say the  Spotify app falls apart. Please fix this pronto. So now I need to have two VPNs or a new antivirus only app and a vpn for just online browsing,  because of this terrible update that says I’m now offline when I’m not just to login.

This is new and highly problematic VPN comes with all mobile security apps to protect your phone so shutting it off to use Spotify even with Bluetooth makes it even more vulnerable. Never was this way until last night. I didn’t want to update but did because of the ongoing ad issue which still defies logic years later.

They say shut off VPN which is always on as is part of a mobile security protection app for my phone even when not on the web. I use the iPhone app only anyways and never had an issue until last night and the newest update. It’s obvious there’s something new and glitchy in it. This is a nuisance and worse than all the banners and ads that pop up still when premium. Please fix this as it’s ridiculous.

I’m having same issue for past couple days: states I’m offline…. Can’t access any music

Also having this issue on my iPhone.
I have done all these steps to see if it will resolve my issue but hasn't. Restarting, clearing the cache and data.

Please can this be fixed as soon as possible as it is really frustrating and really just want to listen to music.

thanks

Any update on this please?

i just switched phones today, from an iPhone 11, where Spotify was working perfectly, to an iPhone 15, where this message keeps appearing— i've tried everything, resetting my password, deleting and reinstalling the app, removing myself from my Premium Family subscription and adding my account back in— nothing worked. And when i request the link to login without my password, the link does get sent to my email, however, when i click, it redirects me to the app and says that the link expired.

Hello there @RaylaDraws, thank you for reaching out to the Community!

Could you check and uninstall any antivirus app from your device and try to login again, if you can login without it, try and add Spotify to the antivirus exceptions list, you'll be able to keep both apps this way.

Crossing fingers for you! 🤞
