Running Spotify on Mac it at some point gets to 90-100% CPU. Doesn't happen immediatly but happens every time. Restart doesn't help. Only quit, waiting and coming back after a while.

@Guido this is still a problem on my Macbook Pro 2018 model.

Even quitting the app does not help, only killing the app from the task manager kills spotify app, and CPU calms down ... nobody from Spotify interested though.

Noticed that the spotify player has been hogging my CPU since a few days.
This is the CPU usage as soon as open the app. I am not playing any music.
Tried activating/deactivating the GPU rendering,
Uninstalled and removed folders in ~/Library and installed,
Do not have any local music files
None of the usual recommendations work. This seems to be an issue for a lot of users as well. Raising it as there has been no fix from spotify yet.
Hey @srihari93, welcome to the Community.Hope you are doing great!Try to disable Hardware Acceleration, just click on the spotify Menu in your Menu Bar next to the Apple Menu, just find Hardware Acceleration and next click on it to disable then confirm to restart Spotify.

Same for me. A brand new MacBook Air. Same with the one before. Spotify doesn't care? Been a premium member since 2008...
