[MacOS] Desktop app crashing, Home page not loading

We've received reports from Mac users that the desktop app crashes and the Home page refuses to load - an error message "Something went wrong" is displayed instead.

 

This is being investigated.

Same problem. Tried all the trouble shooting from several threads on here.

Spotify homescreen works fine in browser, just not the Mac app.

Same here. Have 2 machines at home that I just upgraded to Sonoma (Clean install).

Just like everyone else Spotify home works fine in browser and not on the app.

Yeah I also think this is a bug due to the switch from Intel to Silicon (and the software update to Sonoma).

Thanks for posting in the Community.

 

We understand you've already reinstalled the app, but could you try performing a clean reinstall as described here?

 

Does the web player work? Could you try a different network connection as well?

 

Keep us posted on the results.

Pawsitively blown away from the amount of feedback we are getting on this issue, I appreciate y’all taking the time to drop some info on your systems. Definitely seems to be a trend forming here with the silicon update. Haven’t heard any news yet from mods besides it being under investigation so I’ve just went and rattled their crate, I’ll keep everyone in the loop the best I can.

Hello, I have the same problem, and reinstalling didn't help. The player is working, but another connection doesn't help.

Hello @yordan, I've recently run into the same problem and I followed your suggestion but am still getting the same "Something went wrong" on my home screen for my Mac application. Do you have any other possible solutions?
